Acne
We are all familiar with pimples and acne. It usually starts with a clogged pore which becomes inflamed. There are countless acne creams and facial washes on the shelves. However, there are also ways that you can improve your skin condition by giving it the nutrients it needs.
Vitamins C and E gives you photo-protection, meaning it protects your skin cells from the sun, one of the causes of acne. Load up of vitamin C by eating cauliflower, leafy greens, bell peppers broccoli. If you can't consume the quantity, pop a supplement of 500mg to 1000mg a day. Eat foods like sweet potatoes and carrots for vitamin A, which has been shown to reduce wrinkles and control acne.
Biotin is a type of vitamin B that forms the basis of skin, nail and hair cells. It's found in foods like bananas, oatmeal, rice and eggs. Niacin is also another B vitamin, and its function is to retain skin moisture. It also has anti-inflammatory properties to soothe irritated skin.
Eczema
Eczema is where the skin becomes inflamed, dry, red and itchy. It is caused by stress, irritants, allergens and climate. It usually occurs on the elbow and hands.
Eczema sufferers could lack essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. To combat the problem, take fish oil, flax oil, borage oil or primrose oil, which are all good sources of essential fatty acids. Also take vitamins A, B, C and E for increased skin immunity
