The Fountain of Youth

The Fountain of Youth cannot be found on any maps or by GPS. Instead, it is found within YOU. Here are 6 tips I would give to anyone to fight aging and to feel young again!

1. Reduce your food intake - Scientists have found that cutting calories lowers the production of a thyroid hormone called T3, which slows metabolism. They believe that with the reduction in T3 levels, aging process could be slowed down.

2. Make love - According to Dr. Mehmet Oz of the Dr.Oz Show, women who enjoy sex live longer as it gives you the Zen moment you can't find otherwise.

3. Keep your brain active - Harvard Health recommends keeping your mind sharp and active by continuously learning and challenging your brain with mental exercises. Is is believed that such challenges will activate processes that help in maintaining individual brain cells and stimulating communication between them.

4. Exercise 150 minutes a week - Dr. Henry Lodge, author of Younger Next Year for Women, recommends exercising for at least 2.5 hours a week to help keep weight and blood pressure in check. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) urges moderate-intensity exercises for that period of time. However, it is paramount that you know your limits and avoid overexerting yourself.

5. Eat healthy! - Produce (fruits and vegetables), protein, omega-3-rich fish, whole grains; Dr.Oz says that a well-balanced diet can not only help you lose weight, it could help you live longer, feel fitter and look younger!

6. Stay Positive!- Thorbjorg Hafsteinsdottir, author of best-selling book, 10 Years Younger in 10 Weeks advises women to avoid from having negative thoughts and affirmations about themselves, their work and on those around them. Instead, turn negative thoughts into positive ones to lead a more youthful, happy and vital life.

George Burns once said, " You can't help getting older, but you don't have to get old!" In other words, you are only as old as you feel. No doubt, our biological ages will one day catch up on us, but with the right attitude, living vivaciously to the end of our days is possible. To quote Mark Twain, " Age is an issue of mind over matter. if you don't mind. it doesn't matter!"
